Profile/Abstract:
Chan Siew Pang is Head of Area (Statistics & Mathematics) of the Diploma in Management Studies Programme at the SIM University. He completed his PhD training at the Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering, National University of Singapore.
His research interests include Bayesian probability encoding for medical decision analysis, meta-analysis, hierarchical and multi-level modelling and four-parameter beta regression analysis. His research has been published in both regional and international journals, including the Osteoporosis International, International Journal of Cardiology, Health Promotion International, Emerging Infectious Diseases, and Eye.
He was elected Chartered Mathematician in 1999, Chartered Statistician in 2000 and Chartered Scientist in 2005. He served as Chairman, SAS Users Group Association (Singapore), from 1997-1999 and was elected as President of Stata Users Group (Asia) in 2008:
He did his national service under the Talent Scheme with the Defence Medicine Research Institute (DMRI).
