Profile/Abstract:
Dr Brian Lee has 16 years of international research & planning experience. He has conducted various research projects in Singapore, Malaysia, Taipei and the United States of America.
In 2000, Brian worked with the University Putra Malaysia and MIMOS, respectively, on two large-scaled research projects on the regional Internet consumers. Brian has also provided research consultancy services to other organizations such as Southwest Community Development Council (2003/4), National University of Singapore (2004/5), and Nanyang Technological University (2007/8).
Dr Lee is the multi-lingual author of various prize-winning articles in Asia-Pacific. One of his research papers, “the Internet Commerce Models In Asia,” was awarded top paper at the Pacific Telecommunications Council’s Essay Prize (U.S.A.) in 2001. In the paper, he made several policy recommendations that would facilitate development of Internet commerce in Asia. He actively publishes in several research journals, which includes Pacific Telecommunication Review, Ecquid Novi, etc.
Brian’s research interests include communication technology, new media, popular culture, media management and e-learning.
The Communication Programme (BComn) is the first SASS programme that employs e-teaching and e-learning. BComn has rolled out three blended e-courses this semester and is currently working on another 6 e-courses for the coming academic year. As Head of Communication Programme, Dr Brian Lee would like to talk about the problem areas and his suggestions on how to improve the e-learning mechanism.
